Dear ICCS community,
As you are aware, the worldwide situation regarding the CoVid-19 pandemic is creating a significant amount of disruption to the lives of everyone. The ICCS organising committee has been closely following the situation over the past few weeks. Currently there is still a significant amount of uncertainty about the coming months and it’s hard to predict what the situation will be in June. Ultimately, the organising committee has been faced with a very hard decision.

What does this mean?
1. In practical terms this means there will be no physical conference in Amsterdam in June and the conference will not be rescheduled this year.
2. We still plan to publish the proceedings of the conference. The notifications of acceptance have been sent out.
3. Authors of accepted papers will be given the opportunity to publish their paper in the proceedings. A reduced registration fee of 250€ applies, to compensate the incurred costs and venue cancellation fees.
Here we outline the next steps for authors and the new timeline for the proceedings (the web page is also updated to reflect this)
Author notification: 25th March 2023
Camera ready paper deadline: 15th April 2023
Author registration deadline (250€): 15th April 2023
Workshop chairs will receive a second email in the coming hours about the situation and other adjustments we are making.
We thank you for your understanding and patience,
The ICCS 2023 Organising Committee

The International Conference on Computational Science is an annual conference that brings together researchers and scientists from mathematics and computer science as basic computing disciplines, researchers from various application areas who are pioneering computational methods in sciences such as physics, chemistry, life sciences, and engineering, as well as in arts and humanitarian fields, to discuss problems and solutions in the area, to identify new issues, and to shape future directions for research.
ICCS 2023 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, will be the twentieth in this series of highly successful conferences.
Since its inception in 2001, ICCS has attracted increasingly higher quality and numbers of attendees and papers. Average attendance each year is about 350 participants. The proceedings series have become a major intellectual resource for computational science researchers and serve to both define and advance the state of the art of the field. An archive of the previous meetings is available through the Previous ICCS conferences page.
Out of the submitted full papers to the main track and thematic tracks, we will select some 30% high-quality papers for presentation at the conference and publication in the proceedings. These are published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series and indexed by Scopus, EI Engineering Index, Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (included in ISI Web of Science), and several other indexing services. The papers will contain linked references, XML versions and citable DOI numbers.
ICCS is well known for its excellent line up of keynote speakers. Confirmed so far are:
- Albert-László Barabási, Northeastern University, USA
- Lorena Barba, George Washington University, USA
- 安卓手机上怎么看油管, The University of Auckland, New Zealand
- Marten Scheffer, SparcS Center, The Netherlands
- Stephen Wolfram, Wolfram Research, United States
The theme for ICCS 2023 is “20 Years of Computational Science”. This conference will be a unique event focusing on recent developments in: scalable scientific algorithms; advanced software tools; computational grids; advanced numerical methods; and novel application areas. These innovative novel models, algorithms and tools drive new science through efficient application in areas such as physical systems, computational and systems biology, environmental systems, finance, and others.
ICCS is an A-rank conference in the CORE classification.
